I did some modeling on homogeneous ice nucleation and also fluid evaporation. I agree that it is a little bit hard to do that in COMSOL, but it is possible after some simplifications. I need to know more about your problem, then maybe I can help.
Also, I did that boiling problem with level set in 2D, I could not figure our what to do for source term in 3D, though.
